NWIAA always has volunteer opportunities. However, we need more assistance on the grounds in the summer months at headquarters. Individuals simply need to contact headquarters, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., at the YWCA, 1701 N. Martin Luther King Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73170. Volunteers may also call (405) 424-4623 or (405) 317-8110 for more information about volunteering; or email: .
Winrock International, a private, nonprofit organization that works around the world to increase agricultural productivity and rural employment while protecting the environment, sends U.S. specialists on short-term assignments as volunteers to assist farmers and agribusinesses in low-income countries. By linking local individuals and communities with new ideas and technology, Winrock is increasing long-term productivity, equity, and responsible resource management to benefit the poor and disadvantaged of the world.
Specialists volunteer their time and expertise - no salary is paid, but all travel, lodging, meals and incidental expenses are covered. Most assignments are approximately two to three weeks. After returning, our volunteers constantly tell us they experienced a wonderful opportunity to make a positive difference in the world.
If you are interested in becoming a Winrock volunteer, please visit Winrock’s web page at www.winrock.org and click on the “Volunteer” button. This will take you to the Volunteer Technical Assistance page where you can view current volunteer opportunities, country web pages, and complete the online volunteer application. Please be prepared to attach your current resume.
We hope you will join with us in an effort to improve the world we live in today, not only for ourselves, but future generations all over the world.
